Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a suplementos proteínicos líquidos esterilizados sustancialmente estables, que incluyen una fuente de proteína altamente soluble para utilizarse con leche humana y otras fórmulas de alimentación infantiles o para adultos. Los suplementos proteínicos líquidos esterilizados tienen un pH más neutro, inhibiendo de esta manera la desnaturalización de proteínas y reduciendo el crecimiento microbiano. En un aspecto, el suplemento proteínico líquido esterilizado comprende al menos 250 mg de proteína por 1 mL, la proteína tiene un grado de hidrólisis de 25% a 45%, una mediana de peso molecular menor de 800 Daltons, y una concentración de dipéptidos y tripéptidos no mayor del 40% en peso de proteína total, en donde el suplemento proteínico líquido esterilizado tiene un pH de 3 a 8.
