Abstract

Se describe un método y dispositivo para extraer ácidos nucleicos de una muestra biológica. El dispositivo incluye un substrato, tal como un filtro de celulosa, funcionalizado con un agente biocida que tiene múltiples grupos funcionales que incluyen un radical de enlace, que está involucrado en el enlace del agente al substrato; un radical hidrófobo; y un radical cargado. Los diversos grupos funcionales sirven para enlazar el agente al substrato, debilitar o usar la pared o membrana celular de la muestra, y mantener los ácidos nucleicos en el substrato. Un agente biocida preferido es un compuesto de amonio cuaternario sililado (SiQAC), por ejemplo cloruro de 3-(trimetoxisilil)propild imetiloctadecil-amonio.
