Abstract
Se proporcionan en la presente métodos y composiciones útiles para detectar la producción de compuestos en una célula, por ejemplo, una célula microbiana genéticamente modificada para producir uno o más de tales compuestos en un mayor rendimiento y/o con persistencia incrementada comparada con una célula microbiana original que no se encuentra genéticamente modificada. En algunas modalidades, los métodos comprenden poner en contacto una solución con un tinte fluorescente que enlaza directamente el compuesto producido en forma recombinante, en donde la solución comprende una pluralidad de células que producen en forma recombinante el compuesto; y detectar el tinte fluorescente bajo condiciones espectrales adecuadas para la detección selectiva del tinte fluorescente enlazado al compuesto producido en forma recombinante.
