Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un método para la producción y purificación de un polipéptido de sialiltransferasa, en particular un polipéptido de N-Acetilgalactosamina (Gal NAc)-a-2, 6-sialiltransferasa I (ST6GalNAcI). El método comprende los pasos de producir el polipéptido de sialiltransferasa en una célula de Ovario de Hámster Chino (CHO) y purificar el polipéptido con una combinación de pasos cromatográficos. El método da por resultado en alto rendimiento del polipéptido de sialiltransferasa que es bastante pura y activa. La sialiltransferasa obtenida, en especial ST6GalNAcI, se puede emplear para la glucosilación de proteínas terapéuticas tales como G-CSF.
