Abstract

La invención proporciona un método y aparato para la creación de partículas de plasma y la aplicación de las partículas de plasma a un líquido. Materia prima líquida (por ejemplo, agua y/o hidrocarburos mezclados con biomasa) se bombea a través de una tubería; la corriente monofásica se transforma entonces en una corriente bifásica líquido y gas dentro de una cámara. La transformación se logra por la transición de la corriente de una zona de alta presión a una zona de menor presión. La caída de presión puede producirse cuando la corriente pasa a través de más de un dispositivo para atomizar el líquido. Dentro de la cámara, un campo eléctrico se genera con un nivel de intensidad que supera el umbral de voltaje de ruptura del medio bifásico que conduce a una generación de un estado de plasma. Además, la invención proporciona un método energéticamente eficiente, altamente adaptable y versátil; y un aparato para desinfectar el agua utilizando partículas de plasma para inactivar agentes biológicos contaminantes del agua.
