Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para producir al menos un decanol por medio de la hidrogenación de al menos un decenal, en donde la primera hidrogenación se lleva a cabo en la fase líquida sobre un primer catalizador sólido, en donde el primer catalizador contiene cobre y níquel. El propósito de la invención es proporcionar un método del tipo antes mencionado, de acuerdo con el cual pueden hidrogenarse decenales en decanoles en altos rendimientos incluso después de largos períodos de operación. El contenido de decenales no reaccionados en la descarga de hidrogenación debe ser en particular menor a 1500 ppm. Dicho propósito se logra al llevar a cabo la hidrogenación en dos etapas, es decir en una primera etapa en la manera conocida utilizando un catalizador que comprende cobre, níquel y opcionalmente óxido de cromo y/o bario, y subsecuentemente en una segunda etapa utilizando un catalizador diferente que debe estar libre de cobre, cromo y níquel.
