Abstract

Un catalizador de hollín mejorado está comprendido por un compuesto alcalino al menos parcialmente recubierto por un recubrimiento de cerámica comprendido por C unido a un metal, elemento semimetálico o combinación de los mismos. El catalizador de hollín mejorado puede ser empleado en filtros particulados Diesel catalizados. En un método para hacer un filtro particulado Diesel catalizador, el filtro mejorado es hecho al contactar un cuerpo de cerámica porosa teniendo un catalizador alcalino sobre el mismo, recubrir el catalizador alcalino con un precursor cerámico orgánico, calentar el cuerpo de cerámica hasta una temperatura en una atmósfera suficiente para descomponer el precursor de cerámica orgánica para formar el catalizador de hollín sobre el cuerpo de cerámica porosa sin volatilizar cantidad substancial del catalizador alcalino.
