Abstract
Un material de polietileno reticulado (PEX) flexible, de alta resistencia, es provisto donde el polímero base se entremezcla con un modificador de polímero el cual afecta la región amorfa del polímero, dejando a la porción cristalina del polímero base virtualmente sin afectar. Consecuentemente, la densidad de la región amorfa se reduce, resultando en un producto final más flexible, mientras que la estructura molecular reticulada y/o porción cristalina del polímero, la cual controla la resistencia del polímero base, permanece resistente. El modificador de polímero puede comprender un fluido de hidrocarburos tal como PAO, materiales base del Grupo III, o hidrocarburo de gas a líquido. Un método para producir el material de plástico también es previsto. El material de plástico tiene utilidad particular en la producción de entubados, tuberías y conductos para transportar gases, líquidos y similares, así como en revestimientos de alambre y cables tales como enchaquetado y aislamiento.
