Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para hidrotratar un aceite de hidrocarburo pesado que contiene asfaltenos y vanadio, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de hacer reaccionar el aceite de hidrocarburo pesado con hidrógeno, a una temperatura de 350 a 450 grados C, a una presión de 30 a 250 kg/cm cuadrado manometricos y a una velocidad espacial de líquido de 0.1 a 10 horas -1, con una relación de hidrógeno a aceite de 100 a 2lizador que comprende una mezcla de un vehículo que es un cuerpo mixto calcinado de una mezcla de una arcilla mineral que consiste principalmente de silicato de magnesio teniendo una estructura de doble cadena y por lo menos una substancia formadora de óxido seleccionada del grupo que consiste de los compuestos de los elementos que pertenecen a los grupos IIA, IIIA, IVA, IVB de la tabla periódica y capaces de formar un óxido de calcinación; y por lo menos un componente metálico catalítico compuesto con dicho portador, el metal de dicho componente metálico catalítico seleccionándose del grupo que consiste de los metales que pertenecen a los grupos VB, VIB, VIII y IB de la tabla periódica; dicho catalizador conteniendo entre aproximadamente 5 y aproximadamente 80 por ciento en peso del óxido formado de dicha substancia formadora de óxido y entre aproximadamente 0.1 y aproximadamente 20 por ciento en peso de dicho componente metálico catalítico en terminos de metal elemental; dicho catalizador teniendo un volumen de poros de entre aproximadamente 0.5 a aproximadamente 2.0 cc&/g., y un diámetro promedio de poros de entre aproximadamente 100 y aproximadamente 500 A, y un área de superficie de entre aproximadamente 500 A y un área de superficie de entre aproximadamente 40 y aproximadamente 400 m cuadrado/g, y refinar el producto.
