Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para formar una composición de moldeo ópticamente clara que comprende las etapas de (a) polimerizar un monomero cicloolefinico o una mezcla del mismo en la presencia de un catalizador efectivo para promover la polimerización de anillo abierto y producir un polímero policicloolefínico; y (b) hidrogenar el producto polímero resultante para proveer un polímero que tenga un peso molecular promedio de aproximadamente 35 - 50 x 3(10) y un índice de flujo fundido de entre aproximadamente 40 a aproxmadamente 40 a aproximadamente 65 g/10 min., como se determina en un Sistema de indice de flujo fundido tinus olson a 300ºC, con una carga de 1.2 kgs.
