Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a el método para formar un miembro de bastidor de sección de caja, del cual al menos una porción alargada es de sección transversal continua, uniforme que tiene al menos dos caras laterales opuestas y planas, caracterizado por proprocionar un molde tubular que tiene una sección transversal arqueada, tersa, continua; colocar el molde entre secciones de troquel abiertas, cada una teniendo una porción de cavidad de troquel y una porción de superficie coincidente, cuyas secciones de troquel en la posición cerrada, tienen la porción de superficie coincidente de cada sección en acoplamiento coincidente con la superficie coincidente de cada sección adyacente y definen una cavidad con una sección transversal de caja continua, uniforme, correspondiente a aquella del miembro de bastidor final y, por lo menos tan grande en circunferencia como la circunferencia del molde tubular; aplicar presión de fluido interna al molde, cuando menos suficiente para superar las fuerzas friccionales que las secciones de troquel ejercen sobre el molde durante el cierre de las secciones de troquel y que tienden a expulsar la pared del molde lateralmente hacia afuera entre las superficies coincidentes adyacentes de la secciones de troquel, la presión siendo menor que el límite elástico de la pared del molde, cerrar las secciones de troquel después de someter a presión al molde, para deformar el molde hacia adentro en las áreas correspondientes a las caras laterales planas opuestas y, para forzar el molde uniformemente hacia las esquinas de la sección de caja de la cavidad de troquel; expander el molde circunferencialmente aumentando la presión de fluído interna dentro del molde por encima del límite elástico de la pared, hasta que todas las superficies exteriores del molde se conforman a la cavidad de troquel; separar las secciones de troquel; y separar el molde expandido del troquel.
