Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento microbiológico mejorado para producir proteína unicelular, que comprende el cultivar en condiciones de fermentación aerobia en medio acuoso, a una temperatura comprendida entre 25 y 65 grados C y a un pH de entre 3 y 7, al menos una especie de una levadura en fermentación en medio acuoso, con una cantidad efectiva de un substrato o fuente de energía con carbón; seleccionado de entre uno o más alcoholes solubles en agua, cetona, ester, éter ácido o aldehído de hasta 10 átomos de carbono por molécula, nitrógeno asimilable y sales minerales en medio acuoso; recuperar los microorganismos resultantes como material proteíco unicelular, caracterizado porque las especies de la levadura se seleccionan de una cepa designada como, o derivada de Pichia pastoris NRRL Y-11430, Pichia pastoris NRRL Y-11431 o Hansenula polymorpha NRRL Y-11432.
