CERTAINS MODES DE RÉALISATION DE L'INVENTION CONCERNENT PLUS PARTICULIÈREMENT L'ÉLIMINATION SÉLECTIVE ET LA RÉCUPÉRATION DU DIOXYDE DE SOUFRE PRÉSENT DANS DES EFFLUENTS GAZEUX LORS D'UN PROCESSUS D'ABSORPTION/DE DÉSORPTION UTILISANT UNE SOLUTION D'ABSORPTION AQUEUSE TAMPON COMPRENANT CERTAINS ACIDES ORGANIQUES OU INORGANIQUES FAIBLES OU LEURS SELS, DE PRÉFÉRENCE CERTAINS ACIDES CARBOXYLIQUES POLYPROTIQUES OU LEURS SELS, POUR ABSORBER SÉLECTIVEMENT LE DIOXYDE DE SOUFRE PRÉSENT DANS L'EFFLUENT GAZEUX. DES INHIBITEURS D'OXYDATION PEUVENT ÊTRE UTILISÉS. LE DIOXYDE DE SOUFRE ABSORBÉ EST ENSUITE DÉPOUILLÉ POUR RÉGÉNÉRER LA SOLUTION D'ABSORPTION ET PRODUIRE UN GAZ ENRICHI EN DIOXYDE DE SOUFRE. LA RÉGÉNÉRATION DE LA SOLUTION D'ABSORPTION PEUT COMPORTER UN EXTRACTEUR DE DIOXYDE DE SOUFRE INTÉGRÉ ET UN SYSTÈME DE POMPE À CHALEUR ASSURANT UNE MEILLEURE EFFICACITÉ ÉNERGÉTIQUE.
