Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé utilisant de la zéolite pour éliminer des agents chimiques organiques et des complexes organométalliques (complexes de métaux lourds organiques) présents dans l'eau de traitement ou les courants de résidus d'une unité de traitement des minerais, de la diéthylènetriamine (DETA) ou de la triéthylènetétramine (TETA) étant utilisée comme réactif de flottation et des complexes DETA-métal étant présents dans l'eau de traitement ou les courants de résidus. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, l'eau de traitement ou les courants épais de résidus d'une unité de traitement des minerais contenant de la DETA, des complexes DETA-métal et des résidus de métaux lourds sont mis en contact avec la zéolite naturelle. Ce processus peut être effectué en ajoutant la zéolite naturelle aux courants de traitement (suspensions épaisses) tout en mélangeant avec un malaxeur mécanique de manière à ce que la zéolite adsorbe de manière efficace la DETA, les complexes DETA-métal et les métaux lourds des courants de traitement (suspensions épaisses). Une fois chargée, la zéolite est ensuite éliminée avec les résidus de flottation.
