Abstract

Cette invention concerne un matériau particulaire absorbeur d'oxygène bien dispersé, incorporé dans une matrice polymère. La formulation absorbeur d'oxygène est constituée par une poudre de fer ayant des tailles de particules moyennes de 1 à 25 µm et prérevêtues avec au moins un ou plusieurs composés activateurs et acidifiants à l'état pulvérulent, généralement sous la forme de sels organiques et inorganiques solides de métaux alcalins et alcalino-terreux tels que le chlorure de sodium et le bisulfate de sodium. Le matériau de fer particulaire pré-revêtu est dispersé dans une résine polymère à l'aide d'un procédé de traitement à chaud classique tel qu'une extrusion dans une extrudeuse bivis. Le composé absorbeur d'oxygène est mélangé avec des pastilles de polymère à l'état solide avant fusion. Les pastilles de résine polymère et la poudre de fer revêtue sont, de préférence, traitées avec un tensioactif à l'état sec pour faciliter la dispersion de la poudre de fer/sel avec les pastilles de résine. Les composés extrudés à chaud sont pastillés et maintenus à l'état sec pour empêcher une activation prématurée.
