Abstract

구멍을 갖는 제1부재 및 변형 가능한 시트형 재료로 된 제2부재로 된 조립체의 부재들은, 나사산과 유사한 헬리컬 형태의 외주연벽을 갖는 천공된 구멍을 마련하도록 펀치 및 다이를 이용하여 제2부대를 천공 및 변형시키고, 구멍이 정렬되도록 부재를 조립시키고, 헤드가 제1부재의 면과 접촉하고 생크가 제2부재를 통해 연장하도록 헤드 및 생크를 갖는 관형 파스너를 구멍으로 삽입시키고, 그리고 나서 적어도 일부의 생크를 제2부재의 천공된 구멍에서 팽창시킴으로써 천공된 구멍의 외주연벽이 파스너의 생크의 외부 표면에 헬리컬 외주 홈을 각인시킴으로써, 함께 체결된다. 생크는 테이퍼진 맨드렐 헤드를 생크 내부로 당김으로써 팽창될 수 있다. 파스너는 키이, 스크푸 드라이브, 스패너 등과 맞물림하는 그 보어내에 또는 파스너 헤드상에 렌칭 표면을 제공 또는 형성함으로써 체결된 조립체에서 나사를 돌림으로써 파스너가 쉽게 제거되도록 되어 있다.

제1도는 조립체의 지지 부재로서 이용되는 시트 재료 형태의 가공물의 일부와 가공물을 천공 및 형상화하기 위한 한쌍의 다이를 도시한 단면도, 제2도는 한쪽 다이의 평면도, 제3도는 천공 및 형상화한 후의 가공물의 부분 사시도, 제4도는 제3도의 선 Ⅳ-Ⅳ을 따른 단면도, 제5도는 조립체의 제1 부재가 제2 부재에 체결되는 단계를 도시한 부분 단면도.

Claims (12)

  1. 부재들 중 제1부재(80)는 구멍(82)을 갖고 다른 제2부재(84)는 변형 가능한 시트형 재료로 된 조립체의 부재(80,84)를 함께 체결하는 방법에 있어서, 천공된 구멍(70)을 형성하도록 제2부재(84)를 천공시키고 천공구멍(70)의 방사상 외측으로 연장된 절개부(72)를 형성시키고, 천공된 구멍(70)의 외주면의 제2 부재의 재료를 변형시켜서, 그것에 인접한 외주연 재료의 평면 외측으로 절개부(72)의 한쪽 측면에서 그리고 절개부의 대향 측면상에서 외주연 재료를 이동시키고, 이에 의해 천공된 구멍(70) 외주연에 나사산과 유사한 헬리킬 형태의 벽(76)을 구비한 제2부재(84)를 마련하는 단계와; 천공된 부재(80,84)를 구멍(82,70)이 축방향으로 정렬되도록 거의 대면하게 함께 조립하는 단계와; 생크(82) 및 확대된 헤드(94)를 갖는 관형 파스너(90)를 정렬된 구멍(82,70)을 통해 삽입시켜서, 파스너(90)의 헤드(94)가 상기 제1부재(80)의 면과 접촉하고 관형 파스너(90)의 생크(92)가 정렬된 구멍(82,70)을 통해 연장하여 상기 제2부재(84)를 지나 돌출하도록 하는 단계와; 관형 파스너(90)의 생크의 적어도 일부를 상기 제2부재(84)내의 천공된 구멍(70)의 직경보다 더 큰 외경으로 방사사으로 팽창시켜서 상기 천공된 구멍의 외주연벽(76)이 관형 파스너(90)의 생크의 외부 표면안으로 헬리컬 형태의 외주연 홈을 각인시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 제2부재(84)를 천공시키는 단게는 펀치(20) 및 다이(22)에 의한 전단에 의해 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 절개부를 형성하는 단게는 펀치(20) 및 다이(22)에 의해 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  4. 제1항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 구멍(70)의 외주연의 제2부재(84)의 재료를 변형시키는 단게는 펀치(20) 및 다이(22)에 의해 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  5. 상기 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 천공 및 절개부(72)의 형성 그리고 구멍(70) 주위의 재료 변형 단계는 펀치(20) 및 다이 (22)에 의해 단일 행정 작용으로 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  6. 상기 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 구멍(70)에 인접한 스탠드오프(74)의 형성단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 스탠드오프(74)는 환형 영역으로 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 스탠드오프(74)는 천공된 구멍(70)의 외주연 영역에 천공된 구멍(70)으로부터 이격되게 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  9. 상기 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 관형 파스너(90)는 인장-관통 리벳팅 맨드렐(102)을 그 보어를 통해 당김으로써 행창되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 파스너의 보어의 단면 형상은 원형 형상에서 렌칭 표면을 제공하는 키이 형상으로 바뀌는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 보어의 단면 형상은 6각형 형상으로 바뀌는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  12. 상기 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 헤드(90)의 외주연을 생크(92)쪽으로 이동시키도록 파스너(90)의 헤드 (94)의 변형 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
