Abstract
중합체 함량이 40∼70 중랑%인 중합체 조성물을 완전 혼합형의 벌크 중합 반응기를 사용하여 메틸메트아크릴레이트를 주성분으로 하는 공급 단량체로 부터 벌크 중합반응에 의해 연속적으로 제조하는 메트아크릴레이트 중합체의 제조방법이 개시되어 있으며, 이 방법은 실질적으로 반응기내에 기상 부분이 전혀 없도록 중합체 조성물을 채우고, 120∼180℃의 중합온도에서 실질적으로 외부환경과 전혀 열 교환이 없는 단열상태를 유지하는 반응기에서 하기 관계식을 만족하는 농도(C)(몰/100g 단량체)에서 중합온도에서의 반감기가 1분 이하인 라디칼 개시제를 사용하여 평균체류시간이 15분 내지 2시간인 벌크 중합반응을 행한다. : 4×10-5·exp(0.019T)<C·θ < 3×10-8· exp (0.079T)(1) [식중, θ는 평균체류시간(분)이고, T는 중합온도(℃)이다].

제1도는 본 발명에서 사용된 중합체 제조방법의 흐름도이다.
Claims (12)
- 메틸 메트아크릴레이트를 주성분으로 하는 공급 단량체를 완전 혼합형 반응기를 사용하여 연속적으로 벌크 중합반응시켜 중합체 함량이 계속 40∼70 중량%인 중합체 조성물을 얻는 경우, 하기를 특징으로 하는 메트아크릴레이트 중합체의 제조방법 : (i)반응기내에 실질적으로 기상부분이 전혀 없도록 반응기에 중합체 조성물을 채우고, (ii)외부환경과 실질적으로 열교환이 전혀 없는 단열상태로 반응기를 유지하며, (iii)중합온도가 120 내지 180℃인 범위에서 중합반응을 행하고, (ⅳ)평균체류시간이 15분 내지 2시간으로 유지되며, ( v )중합 온도에서 1분 이하의 반감기를 가지는 라디칼 개시제를 사용하고, (vi)라디칼 개시제를 하기 관계식 (1)을 충족시키는 농도(C)(몰/100g 단량체)로 조정한다. :4×10-5. exp (0.019T)〈C·〈 3X10-8·exp (0.079T)(1) [식중, θ는 평균체류시간(분)이고, T는 중합온도( ℃)이다].
- 제1항에 있어서, 라디칼 개시제의 농도(C)(몰/100g 단량체)가 하기 관계식(2)을 만족시키는 제조방법 : 4×10-5. exp (0.019T)〈C· θ 〈 3×10-5exp (0.034T)(2) [식중, θ와 T는 제1항의 정의와 동일함].
- 제1항에 있어서, 메틸 메트아크릴레이트를 주성분으로 하는 공급 단량체가 메틸 메트아크릴레이트이거나, 메틸 메티아크릴레이트 70 중량% 이상과 메틸 메트아크릴레이트와 공중합할 수 있는 하나 이상의 비닐 단량체 30 중량% 이하의 혼합물인 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 반응기내 온도와 반응기 외벽 온도의 온도차가 약 5℃ 이하가 되도록 온도를 조정하는 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 중합온도가 130 내지 170℃인 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 평균체류시간이 20분 내지 1.5시간의 범위내인 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 교반동력을 0.5 내지 20KW/㎤로 조정하는 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 반응기내 압력을 10 내지 20kg/㎤로 유지하는 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 라디칼 개시제의 농도(C)가 공급단량체를 기준으로 0.001 내지 1 중량%인 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 연쇄 이동제를 사용하는 제조방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 연쇄 이동제가 머캅탄인 제조방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 단량체 또는 단량체 혼합물 100 중량부당 0.01 내지 3 중량부의 머캅탄을 사용하는 제조방법.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
