Abstract

본 발명을 굴절율이 각각 다른 절연막과 배향막의 두께를 조정하여 광의 투과율이 최대가 되도록 함으로써 전기광학 특성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 한 액정 표시 소자에 관한 것으로, 이러한 본 발명은 절연막과 배향막의 두께 및 러빙 조건에 따른 콘트라스트, 반응속도, 소비전류 등을 분석하여 절연막 두께는 배향막 두께의 2.56∼3.10배로 형성하고, 한쪽 기판의 절연막과 배향막의 두께의 합은 1200-1300Å으로 설정하도록 하였다.

Claims (3)

  1. 전극이 형성된 유리기판상에 소정 두께로 적층한 절연막과, 절연막상에 상기 절연막 두께의 1/2배 이하의 두께로 적층한 배향막을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 소자.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 절연막 두께는 배향막 두께의 2.56-3.10배로 형성되도록 한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 소자.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 한쪽 기판의 절연막과 배향막의 두께의 합은 1200-1300Å으로 설정하도록 한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 소자.
