Description

향균성 물질의 존재하에서 미생물 증식을 검출 및 회수하는 개선된 장치 및 방법

제1도는 혈액 배양 장치로서, 그의 전체 외관과 이 장치를 모니터하기 위해 사용 가능한 기구의 기능부를 나타낸 것이다.

Claims (14)

  1. 시료가 배양되는 내부 챔버를 갖는, 밀봉가능하고 살균할 수 있는 시료용 요기를 포함하며, 시료내의 생물학적 활성을 지속적으로 모니터하고 미생물의 회수 및 검출을 향상시키기 위한 장치로서, 상기 내부 챔버는 멸균 배양 배지 및 상기 시료와 상기 배지내에 존재하는 항균 물질을 중화하거나, 결합하거나, 억제하는데 유효한 양의 흡착제를 포함하며, 상기 용기는 그 내부에 적어도 하나의 투명한 영역과 이 투명한 영역내에 위치한 센서 수단을 갖으며, 상기 센서 수단은 멤브레인과 인디케이터 매체를 포함하고, 상기 인디케이터 매체는 유기체의 물질 대사작용에 대한 생성물에 노출되면 검출할 수 있는 정도의변화를 나타내는 특성을 갖는 것으로 선택되며, 이로인해 상기센서 수단의 외관이 변화되어 상기 용기 외부에서도 상기투명한 영역을 통해 지속적으로 용기 내부를 모니터할 수 있으며, 따라서 상기 용기를 밀봉한 후라도 상기 용기를 분리함 없이 생물학적 활성을 모니터할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제는 산화 알루미늄, 콜로이드성 천연 수화 알루미늄 실리케이트, 결정성 수화 알칼리-알루미늄 실리케이트, 실리카, 규산질 규조, 각종 규조류의 단편, 무정형 탄소, 이온 교환수지, 비작용성 중합체 수지상 흡착제, 디비닐 벤젠으로 가교 결합된 폴리스티렌 수지 및 그의 조합물로 구성된 군에서 선택된것인 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제는 섬유에 결합된 챠콜, 섬유에 결합된 표포토(fuller′s earth)와 표포토에 결합된 챠콜로 구성된 군에서 선택된 것인 장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제가 표포토에 결합된 활성화 챠콜을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제가 셀룰로오즈 섬유에 결합된 활성화 챠콜과 셀룰로오즈 섬유에 결합된 표포토의 혼합물을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제가 시료내에 존재하는 항균성 물질을 분리할 수 있는 수지를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  7. 시료내의 미생물의회수 및 검출을 향상시키기 위해 상기시료와 배양 배지내에 존재하는 항균 물질을 중화시키는 방법으로서, a) 배양 배지를 제조하고, b) 상기 배지에 항균 물질을 중화하거나, 결합하거나 억제하는데 유효한 양의 비-수지상 흡착제를 하나 이상 첨가하고, c) 상기 비-수지상 흡착제를 함유하는 상기 배지에 시험을 요하는 상기 시료를 첨가하는 것을 포함하는 방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 비-수지상 흡착제는 산화 알루미늄, 콜로이드성 천연 수화 알루미늄 실리케이트, 결정성 수화 알칼리-알루미늄 실리케이트, 실리카, 규산질 규조, 각종 규조류의 단편, 무정형 탄소, 및 그의 조합물로 구성된 군에서 선택된 것인 방법.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 비-수지상흡착제는 섬유에 결합된 챠콜, 섬유에 결합된 표포토(fuller′s earth)와 표포토에 결합된 챠콜로 구성된 군에서 선택된 것인 방법.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 비-수지상 흡착제가 표포토에 결합된 활성화 챠콜을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  11. 제1항의 장치를 사용하여 시료내의 미생물의 회수 및 검출을 향상시키기 위해 상기 시료와 배양배지내에 존재하는 항균 물질을 중화시키는 방법으로서, a) 배양 배지를 제조하고, b) 상기 배지에 항균 물질을 중화하거나, 결합하거나 억제하는데 유효한 양의 비-수지상 흡착제를 첨가하고, c) 상기 비-수지상 흡착제를 함유하는 상기 배지를 상기 장치에 유입하고, d) 상기 시료를 상기 배지에 접종하는 것을 포함하는 방법.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제는 산화 알루미늄, 콜로이드성 천연 수화 알루미늄 실리케이트, 결정성 수화 알칼리-알루미늄 실리케이트, 실리카, 규산질 규조, 각종 규조류의 단편, 무정형 탄소, 이온 교환 수지, 비-작용성 중합체 수지 흡착제, 디비닐 벤젠으로 가교 결합된 폴리스티렌 수지와 그의 조합물로 구성된 군에서 선택된 것인 방법.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제는 섬유에 결합된 챠콜, 섬유에 결합된 표포토 및 표포토에 결합된 챠콜로 구성된 군에서 선택된 것인 방법.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 흡착제는 표포토에 결합된 활성화 챠콜로을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
