그러나, 특허문헌 1과 같은 부피가 큰 구조의 모노머는, 구조가 특수하기 때문에 매우 고가이며, 경제성이 뒤떨어지고, 또한 접착제나 도료라고 하는 용도에서 필요한 유연성이나 밀착성을 부여하는 것이 곤란하다. 또한, 특허문헌 2와 같이 장쇄의 실록산 구조를 갖는 모노머를 이용하면, 유연성을 부여하는 것은 가능하지만, 수지가 본래 갖고 있던 내열성이 저하될 우려가 있다. 또한, 매우 고가의 실록산 결합을 갖는 출발 원료를 이용할 필요가 있어, 경제성이 뒤떨어진다. 즉, 종래의 기술에서는, 용제 용해성, 유연성, 밀착성이 우수하고, 접착제 용도나 도료 용도에 적합한 수지 및 수지 조성물은 얻어지지 않았다.
