Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 스위칭 소자를 매트릭스형으로 배치하고 그 최상층에 배향막을 설치한 어레이 기판과,차광막과 색층을 갖는 대향 기판으로서, 그 최상층에 배향막을 설치하고 이 기판에서 상기 차광막에 의해 덮이는 영역을 제외한 색층 영역이 표시 영역으로 되는 대향 기판과,상기 어레이 기판과 대향 기판 사이에 형성되는 액정층을 포함하는 액정 표시 패널로서,상기 대향 기판의 표시 영역에서의 셀갭이 스페이서의 직경보다 크게 형성되고, 상기 차광막에 대응하는 색층 부분에서의 셀갭이 스페이서의 직경보다 적게 형성되며, 상기 작은 셀갭에서의 스페이서는 상기 어레이 기판과의 사이에서 가압 상태로 유지되는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 색층은 표시 영역과 색층 사이에 셀 갭이 형성되도록 표시 영역보다 높이가 높은 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 색층 영역은 스트라이프 형상으로 형성되어 있는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 배향막의 편광 이방성이 소요치로 되도록 상기 색층부분의 돌출부 높이가 설정되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 스페이서는 표시 영역의 셀갭에서 자유롭게 이동할수 있는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 액정 패널은 액정분자를 일정방향으로 속박하는 속박력(배향 규제력)을 부여하므로써 액정분자의 이상배향을 억제하고 광누설을 방지할수 있게 구성되어 있는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 어레이 기판은 스위칭 소자로서 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)를 액티브 매트릭스형 표시방식으로 배치한 TFT기판인 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 어레이 기판에 형성된 층의 최상측면에 TFT 부가 형성되며, 이 TFT형성부와 상기 대향기판의 색층의 오목부 사이의 셀 갭은 상기 셀내 스페이서의 직경보다 적게 되어 있는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 액정 표시 패널은 대각 14.1 인치 이상의 대형 화면이 얻어지는 액정 표시 패널.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,횡전계 구동형(IPS) 으로 구동될수 있는 액정 표시 패널.
- 그 하나는 매트릭스 형으로 배치된 스위칭 소자와 최상층상에 코팅되는 배향막을 갖는 어레이 기판이고 다른 하나는 차광막에 의해 덮이는 영역을 제외하고 색층으로 코팅되는 표시 화소부를 갖는 칼라필터로서의 대향 기판인 두 개의 기판 사이에 삽입되는 액정 층과, 이들 층중 최상층에 코팅되는 배향막을 포함하는 액정 표시 패널의 제조 방법으로서,상기 대향 기판상에서, 표시 화소부의 셀갭은 셀에 삽입된 스페이서보다 크게 형성되며, 차광층을 갖는 색층 영역에서의 셀갭은 단차 형태로 형성되도록 스페이서보다 작게 형성되고, 높은 표시 화소부와 낮은 표시 화소부 사이의 높이 차이는 배향막의 편광 이방성이 소정치로 되도록 결정되는 액정 표시 패널 제조 방법.
