Claims (16)
- 전기화학적 바이오센서(electrochemical biosensor) 내에 보유된 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법에 있어서:선택된 진폭과 선택된 주파수를 갖는 교류 전압을 상기 바이오센서에 인가하는 단계;상기 교류 전압을 인가함으로써 발생된 전류를 측정하는 단계;상기 측정된 전류로부터 상기 바이오센서의 커패시턴스를 결정하는 단계;상기 결정된 커패시턴스에 기초하여 상기 샘플과 접촉하는 상기 바이오센서의 표면적을 결정하는 단계;상기 결정된 표면적에 기초하여 상기 바이오센서 내의 상기 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 단계; 및상기 결정된 샘플의 볼륨에 기초하여 상기 생물학적 샘플의 적어도 하나의 특징을 측정하는 단계를 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 샘플 볼륨이 상기 샘플의 상기 특징을 측정하기에 적절한지의 여부를 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 샘플 볼륨이 적절하다는 결정에 기초하여 상기 샘플 측정치 내에 존재하는 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들(analytes)의 농도를 측정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 샘플 볼륨이 부적절하다는 결정에 기초하여, 상기 부적절한 샘플 볼륨을 보상하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 부적절한 샘플 볼륨을 보상하는 단계는, 상기 부적절한 샘플 볼륨을 갖는 상기 바이오센서의 커패시턴스에 대한, 상기 샘플로 완전히 채워졌을 때의 상기 바이오센서의 커패시턴스의 비율을 결정하는 것을 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 측정된 전류로부터 상기 바이오센서의 저항을 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 결정된 커패시턴스 및 상기 결정된 저항에 기초하여 상기 샘플과 접촉하는 상기 바이오센서의 표면적을 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.

- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 직류 전압 및 상기 교류 전압은 동시에 인가되는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 방법.

- 전기화학적 바이오센서 내에 보유된 생물학적 샘플의 적어도 하나의 특징을 측정하는 방법에 있어서:상기 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 단계;상기 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨의 적정성(adequacy)을 결정하는 단계;상기 볼륨이 부적절하다는 결정에 기초하여 전기화학적 바이오센서 내에 보유된 생물학적 샘플의 부적절한 볼륨을 보상하는 단계; 및상기 보상된 샘플의 볼륨에 기초하여 상기 생물학적 샘플의 상기 적어도 하나의 특징을 정확히 측정하는 단계를 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 적어도 하나의 특징을 측정하는 방법.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,상기 적어도 하나의 특징은 상기 샘플 내에 존재하는 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들의 농도인, 생물학적 샘플의 적어도 하나의 특징을 측정하는 방법.
- 표면적과 볼륨을 갖는 전기화학적 셀 내의 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 시스템에 있어서:상기 전기화학적 셀에 전압을 인가하도록 구성된 전압원;상기 전압이 상기 셀에 인가될 때 상기 셀에 의해 발생된 전류를 측정하는 수단;상기 측정된 전류로부터 상기 셀의 커패시턴스를 유도하는 수단;상기 셀 커패시턴스로부터 상기 생물학적 샘플에 의해 덮여진 상기 셀의 표면적을 유도하는 수단;상기 셀 표면적으로부터 상기 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 유도하는 수단; 및상기 유도된 샘플의 볼륨에 기초하여 상기 생물학적 샘플의 적어도 하나의 특징을 정확히 측정하는 수단을 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 시스템.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 샘플 볼륨이 상기 생물학적 샘플 내의 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들의 농도를 정확히 측정하기에 적절한지의 여부를 결정하는 수단을 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 시스템.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 생물학적 샘플 내의 상기 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들의 농도를 측정하는 수단; 및상기 생물학적 샘플 내의 상기 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들의 농도를 측정하는 중에 부적절하다고 결정된 상기 샘플 볼륨을 보상하는 수단을 더 포함하는, 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하는 시스템.
- 전기화학적 셀을 사용하고, 상기 전기화학적 셀 내에 보유된 생물학적 샘플 내의 하나 이상의 선택된 피분석물들의 농도를 측정하도록 구성된 계기(meter)를 사용하는 시스템에 있어서:교류 및/또는 직류 전압을 상기 셀에 인가하도록 구성된 전압원; 및상기 셀에 전압이 인가될 때 상기 전기화학적 셀에 의해 발생된 전류를 수신하고, 상기 발생된 전류를 측정하고, 상기 측정된 전류로부터 상기 셀의 커패시턴스를 결정하고, 상기 셀 커패시턴스로부터 상기 생물학적 샘플에 의해 덮여진 상기 셀의 표면적을 결정하고, 상기 생물학적 샘플에 의해 덮여진 상기 셀 표면적으로부터 상기 생물학적 샘플의 볼륨을 결정하도록 구성된 전기회로를 포함하는, 시스템.
