Abstract
Description
본 발명은 시각에 기초하는 물체 검출 및 추적에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 인간의 얼굴과 같은 비디오 화상에서 물체를 검출하며, 상기 물체를 실시간으로 추적하고 식별하기 위한 시스템에 관한 것이다.
Claims (24)
- 화상 프레임에서 물체를 인식하기 위한 방법에 있어서,상기 화상 프레임에서 물체를 검출하고, 상기 물체와 관련된 화상 프레임의 부분을 경계짓는 단계;웨이브렛(wavelet) 변환을 사용하여 상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분을 변환하여 변환 화상을 생성하는 단계;복수의 대표 물체 화상으로부터 생성된 집군 그래프(bunch graph)의 웨이브렛 제트(wavelet jet)에 의해 정의된 상기 물체의 구별되는 특징과 관련되는 노드(node)들을 상기 변환 화상 상에서 위치 파악(locating)하는 단계; 및물체 화상들의 갤러리의 물체 화상과 관련된 웨이브렛 제트(wavelet jet)와, 상기 변환 화상의 노드(node)에서의 웨이브렛 제트(wavelet jet) 사이의 유사도에 기초하여 상기 물체를 식별하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분내에 포함되지 않는 화상 부분은 집군 그래프 분석을 수행하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 검출된 물체가 상기 경계 부분 내부에서 소정의 크기와 위치를 가지도록 상기 화상의 경계 내부의 상기 검출된 물체를 크기 조정(sizing)하고 센터링(centering)하는 단계를 더 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 물체를 식별하기 전에, 상기 물체와 관련 없는 화상 프레임의 경계 부분의 배경 부분을 억제하는 단계를 더 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 억제된 배경 부분은, 상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분 내의 물체의 에지(edge) 근처에서 점차적으로 억제되는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 물체는 얼굴 영역(region)을 나타내는 사람의 머리인 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 집군 그래프는 상기 물체의 3차원 표현에 기초하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 웨이브렛(wavelet) 변환은, 하드웨어 적응(hardware adapted) 위상 표현을 사용하여 행해지는 위상 계산에 의해 수행되는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 위치 파악 단계는 대강에서 세밀한쪽으로의 방법(coarse-to-fine approach)을 사용하여 수행되는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 집군 그래프는 소정의 자세에 기초하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 식별 단계에서 상기 물체의 3차원 표현을 사용하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 일련의 화상 프레임에서 물체를 인식하기 위한 방법에 있어서,상기 화상 프레임에서 물체를 검출하고, 상기 물체와 관련된 각 화상 프레임의 부분을 경계짓는 단계;웨이브렛(wavelet) 변환을 사용하여 각 화상 프레임의 경계 부분을 변환하여 변환 화상을 생성하는 단계;복수의 대표 물체 화상으로부터 생성된 집군 그래프의 웨이브렛 제트에 의해 정의된 상기 물체의 구별되는 특징과 관련되는 노드들을 상기 변환 화상 상에서 위치 파악(locating)하는 단계; 및물체 화상들의 갤러리의 물체 화상과 관련된 웨이브렛 제트와, 상기 변환 화상의 노드에서의 웨이브렛 제트 사이의 유사도에 기초하여 상기 물체를 식별하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분내에 포함되지 않는 화상 부분은 집군 그래프 분석을 수행하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 물체 검출 단계는, 상기 물체와 관련된 궤적에 기초하여 화상 프레임들 간의 물체를 추적하는 단계를 더 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,특정 궤적에 속하는 일련의 뷰(view)들에서 가장 적합한 물체의 뷰를 선택하는 프리실렉팅 프로세스(preselecting process)를 더 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 노드들을 위치 파악하는 단계는 상기 화상 프레임들 간의 노드를 추적하는 단계를 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 노드(node)의 위치가 상기 화상 프레임들 간의 소정의 위치 제한(constraint)을 벗어나면, 추적된 노드를 재초기화하는 단계를 더 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 소정의 위치 제한은 상기 노드 위치들 간의 상대적 위치와 관련된 기하학적 위치 제한(geometrical position constraint)에 기초하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 화상 프레임은 입체 화상이고, 상기 검출 단계는 상기 물체를 검출하기 위해 디스패리티 히스토그램(disparity histogram)과 실루엣 화상을 생성하는 단계를 포함하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 디스패리티 히스토그램과 실루엣 화상은, 머리 이동과 관련되며 볼록 검출기에 의해 검출되는 볼록 영역을 생성하는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 웨이브렛 변환은, 하드웨어 적응 위상 표현을 사용하여 행해지는 위상 계산에 의해 수행되는 물체 인식 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,상기 집군 그래프는 상기 물체의 3차원 표현에 기초하는 물체 인식 방법.

- 화상 프레임에서 물체를 인식하기 위한 장치에 있어서,상기 화상 프레임에서 물체를 검출하고, 상기 물체와 관련된 화상 프레임 부분을 경계짓기 위한 수단;웨이브렛 변환을 사용하여 상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분을 변환하여 변환 화상을 생성하는 수단;복수의 대표 물체 화상으로부터 생성된 집군 그래프의 웨이브렛 제트(wavelet jet)에 의해 정의된 물체의 구별되는 특징과 관련되는 노드들을 상기 변환 화상 상에서 위치 파악(locating)하기 위한 수단; 및물체 화상들의 갤러리의 물체 화상과 관련된 웨이브렛 제트와, 상기 변환 화상의 노드에서의 웨이브렛 제트 사이의 유사도에 기초하여 상기 물체를 식별하기 위한 수단을 포함하고,상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분내에 포함되지 않는 화상 부분은 집군 그래프 분석을 수행하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 물체 인식 장치.
- 일련의 화상 프레임에서 물체를 인식하기 위한 장치에 있어서,상기 화상 프레임에서 물체를 검출하고, 상기 물체와 관련된 각 화상 프레임의 부분을 경계짓기 위한 수단;웨이브렛 변환을 사용하여 각 화상 프레임의 경계 부분을 변환하여 변환 화상을 생성하는 수단;복수의 대표 물체 화상으로부터 생성된 집군 그래프의 웨이브렛 제트에 의해 정의된 물체의 구별되는 특징과 관련되는 노드들을 상기 변환 화상 상에서 위치 파악(locating)하는 수단; 및물체 화상들의 갤러리의 물체 화상과 관련된 웨이브렛 제트와, 상기 변환 화상의 노드에서의 웨이브렛 제트 사이의 유사도에 기초하여 상기 물체를 식별하기 위한 수단을 포함하고,상기 화상 프레임의 경계 부분내에 포함되지 않는 화상 부분은 집군 그래프 분석을 수행하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 물체 인식 장치.
