Claims (12)
- -프레임과 함께 셀을 형성하는 2개의 외부판,-셀에 존재하는 양성 유전 이방성의 네마틱 액정 혼합물,-외부판의 내부에 있는 정렬층을 갖는 전극층,-약 0° 내지 30°의, 외부판의 표면에서의 분자의 종방향 축과 외부판 사이의 예비-틸트(pre-tilt)각, 및-22.5°내지 600°의 값을 갖는, 정렬층으로부터 정렬층까지 셀에서 액정 혼합물의 비틀림 각을 갖는 초비틀림 액정 디스플레이에 있어서,상기 네마틱 액정 혼합물이a) +1.5보다 큰 유전 이방성을 갖는 하나 이상의 화합물로 구성된 액정 성분 A 15 내지 90 중량%;b) -1.5 내지 +1.5의 유전 이방성을 갖는 하나 이상의 화합물로 구성된 액정 성분 B 0 내지 60 중량%;c) -1.5보다 작은 유전 이방성을 갖는 하나 이상의 화합물로 구성된 액정 성분 D 0 내지 20 중량%; 및d) 경우에 따라, 층 두께(외부판의 분리)와 키랄 네마틱 액정 혼합물의 본래 피치(pitch) 사이의 비가 약 0.2 내지 1.3이 되게 하는 양의 광학 활성 성분 C로 구성되고, 추가로하나 이상의 하기 화학식 1a의 화합물을 포함하고 동시에 하나 이상의 하기 화학식 1b의 화합물을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 초비틀림 액정 디스플레이:화학식 1a화학식 1b상기 식에서,Ra 및 Rc는 각각 H 또는 탄소수 1 내지 7의 알킬기이고,Rb는 탄소수 1 내지 10의 알킬 또는 알콕시기, 또는 탄소수 2 내지 10의 알케닐 또는 알케닐옥시기이고,Rd는 F, OCF3, OCHF2, 탄소수 1 내지 7의 알킬 또는 알콕시기, 또는 탄소수 2 내지 7의 알케닐기이고,Y1 및 Y2는 서로 독립적으로 H 또는 F이고,q는 0 또는 1이고,n 및 p는 0, 1 또는 2이다.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,액정 혼합물이, Rb가 탄소수 1 내지 7의 직쇄 알콕시기인 하나 이상의 화학식 1a의 화합물을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 액정 디스플레이.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,성분 A가 하기 화학식 2 및/또는 3의 화합물을 추가로 포함함을 특징으로 하는 액정 디스플레이:화학식 2화학식 3상기 식에서,R은 탄소수 1 내지 12의 알킬, 알콕시 또는 알케닐기이고, 여기서 이웃하지 않은 1 또는 2개의 CH2 기는 O원자가 서로 직접 결합하지 않는 방식으로 -O-, -CH=CH-, -CO-, -OCO- 또는 -COO-에 의해 대체될 수 있고,L1 내지 L6은 각각 서로 독립적으로 H 또는 F이고,Z1은 -COO-, -CH2CH2- 또는 단일 결합이고,Z2는 -CH2CH2-, -COO-, -C≡C- 또는 단일 결합이고,Q는 -CF2-, -CHF-, -OCF2-, -OCHF- 또는 단일 결합이고,Y는 F 또는 Cl이고,a는 1 또는 2이고,b는 0 또는 1이고,화학식 1b의 화합물은 화학식 3의 화합물의 범위에서 배제된다.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,성분 B가 하기 화학식 401 내지 424의 화합물 중 하나 이상의 화합물을 추가로 포함함을 특징으로 하는 액정 디스플레이:화학식 401화학식 402화학식 403화학식 404화학식 405화학식 406화학식 407화학식 408화학식 409화학식 410화학식 411화학식 412화학식 413화학식 414화학식 415화학식 416화학식 417화학식 418화학식 419화학식 420화학식 421화학식 422화학식 423화학식 424상기 식에서,R1 및 R2는 각각 서로 독립적으로 제 4 항에서 정의된 R의 정의와 같고,R3 및 R4는 탄소수 1 내지 7의 알킬 또는 알콕시기이다.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에서 정의된 조성물의 액정 혼합물.
