Claims (2)
- 한 쌍의 기판, 및 상기 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 액정층을 가지며,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 한 쪽 기판 상에 형성된 복수의 게이트선, 상기 게이트선과 절연막을 사이에 두고 교차하는 복수의 소스선, 상기 게이트선과 상기 소스선의 교차부 부근에 형성된 스위칭 소자, 및 상기 소스선과 상기 스위칭 소자를 통하여 접속되는 화소전극을 가지며, 상기 소스선에 의해 화상표시에 필요한 신호 전위를 상기 스위칭 소자를 통하여 상기 화소전극에 공급하고, 상기 기판면에 평행한 전계를 인가하는 횡전계방식 액정표시장치의 구동방법에 있어서,상기 화소전극의 전위가 양극성일 때와 음극성일 때의 평균값이, 표시하는 계조에 따라 다르도록 상기 신호전위의 평균값을 설정하여 입력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 신호전위의 평균값은, 상기 신호전위를 작성하는 소스선 구동회로로 외부로부터 입력된, 소정의 참조 계조에 있어서 양극성일 때와 음극성일 때의 참조 계조 전압의 평균값인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
