Description
Claims (18)
- (a) 연마입자와 유리질 기질 전구체를 함께 혼합하여 균일한 혼합물을 형성하고, (b) 그 혼합물을 주형내에 넣고, (c) 그 혼합물을 주형내에서 압축하여 압축형상을 형성하고, (d) 상기 유리질 기질 전구체가 연마입자를 함께 결합하는 유리질 기질로 변환되는 온도로 상기 압축형상을 가열하는, 단계를 포함하는 20∼55체적% 범위의 공극도를 갖는 유리질 결합된 연마물 제조방법에 있어서, 수축감소시키는 유효량의 수축조절제를 상기 연마입자 및 유리질 기질 전구체와 혼합하는 단계를 포함하고, 그 수축조절제는 (1) 실리콘, 알루미늄 및 마그네슘 중 최소 하나의 원소와 산소를 함유하는 미네랄 및 (2) 육방질화붕소, 로 구성되는 그룹에서 선택된 Mohs 스케일 1∼4범위의 경도를 갖는 피복되지 않은, 비-연마성, 비-금속성, 미립형, 무기 고체임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 실리콘, 알루미늄 및 마그네슘 중 최소하나의 원소 및 산소를 함유한 미네랄 임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 비-연마성(hexagonal) 질화붕소임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 (a) 단계에 일시적 결합재가 포함되며, 상기 유리질 기질 전구체가 상기 연마입자를 함께 결합하는 유리질 기질로 변화되는 온도 이하의 온도로 상기 압축형상을 가열하여 자기지지 형상의 성형물(self supporting shaped molding)을 형성한 후, 상기 성형물을 단계(d)에 앞서 주형으로부터 제거하는 단계를 제공함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 연마입자는 입방질화붕소(cubic boron nitride)임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 연마입자는 입방질화붕소 연마입자와 용융된 알루미나 연마입자의 혼합물임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 연마입자와 유리질 결합된 연마물을 제조하기 위한 다른 성분들을 혼합하기 전에 연마입자와 수축조절제를 혼합하는 단계를 포함함을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 연마물 체적을 기준으로 약 1∼10체적% 량으로 사용됨을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 유리질 기질 전구체인 프릿(frit)임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 연마입자는 입방질화붕소임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 유리질 기질 전구체는 프릿임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 비-연마성 육방질화붕소임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 연마물의 체적을 기준으로 4∼8체적% 임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 육방질화붕소는 연마물의 체적을 기준으로 1∼10체적%로 사용됨을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- (a)연마입자와 유리질 기질 전구체를 함께 혼합하여 균일한 혼합물을 형성하고 (b) 그 혼합물을 주형내에 넣고 (c) 그 혼합물을 주형내에서 압축하여 압축형상을 형성하고, (d) 상기 유리질 기질 전구체가 상기 연마입자를 함께 결합하는 유리질 기질로 변환되는 온도로 상기 압축형상을 가열하는 단계를 포함하고, 수축을 감소시키는 유효량의 수축조절제를 상기 연마입자 및 유리질 기질 전구체와 함께 혼합하는 단계를 포함하고, 그 수축조절제는 (1) 실리콘, 알루미늄 및 마그네슘 중 최소하나의 원소와 산소를 함유하는 미네랄 및 (2) 육방질화붕소, 로 구성되는 그룹에서 선택된 Mohs 스케일 1∼4인 경도를 갖는, 피복되지 않은, 비-연마성, 비-금속성, 미립형, 무기 고체임을 특징으로 하는 유리질 결합된 연마물인 방법에 의해 제조된 20∼55체적% 공극도를 갖는 유리질 결합된 연마물.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 실리콘, 알루미늄 및 마그네슘 중 최소하나와 산소를 함유한 미네랄임을 특징으로 하는 유리질 결합된 연마물.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 수축조절제는 육방질화붕소임을 특징으로 하는 유리질 결합된 연마물.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 연마입자는 질화붕소임을 특징으로 하는 유리질 결합된 연마물.
