Abstract
Description
図1は本発明の一実施形態に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置の構成図である。
内燃機関10は、例えば、ディーゼルエンジンであり、この内燃機関10の排気通路15には、フィルタとしてのDPF(ディーゼル・パティキュレート・フィルタ)30と、NOx触媒35とが設けられている。
NOx触媒35は、周知の構造であり、例えば、Si、O、Alを主成分とすると共にFeイオンを含むゼオライトから構成されたものや、例えば、酸化アルミニウムアルミナからなる基材の表面にバナジウム触媒(V2O5)を担持させたものなどを用いることができ、特に、これらに限定されるわけではない。
NOx触媒35に流入するNOx量をNinとし、これを全て浄化するのに必要十分な尿素水を添加したとき、NOx触媒35から流出するNOx量をNoutとすると、NOx触媒35のNOx浄化率Cは、次式により定義される。
図6の示す排気浄化装置は、DPF30の上流側に加熱手段としてのバーナー60を備え、NOx触媒の下流側に酸化触媒40を備えている。なお、NOxセンサ90B及び排気温度センサ95Bは、酸化触媒40の出口側に設けられている。
上記実施形態では、DPF30がNOx触媒35の上流側に配置される構成としたが、DPF30がNOx触媒35の下流側に設けた場合にも本発明を適用できる。また、DPF30を使用しない場合にも、本発明を適用可能である。

Claims (6)
- 内燃機関の排気系に設けられ、NOxを選択的に還元するNOx触媒と、
前記NOx触媒の上流側に設けられ、前記NOx触媒に還元剤として尿素水又はアンモニアを供給する還元剤添加手段と、
NOx及びアンモニアのいずれにも反応する、前記還元剤添加手段の上流側に設けられた第1のNOxセンサ及び前記NOx触媒の出口側に設けられた第2のNOxセンサと、
前記NOx触媒の床温がNOxに変換されるアンモニアの量が相対的に増加し、かつ、NOx浄化率が相対的に低下する所定の高温域にある状態において、前記第1及び第2のNOxセンサの出力を用いて前記還元剤添加手段の実還元剤添加量が目標添加量となるように補正する添加量補正手段と、
を有することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記NOx触媒の上流側に排気ガスに含まれる粒子状物質を捕集するフィルタをさらに有し、
前記NOx触媒は、前記フィルタの捕集能力を再生するために前記粒子状物質を酸化させる再生処理により、床温が前記所定の高温域まで昇温される、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記NOx触媒を前記所定の高温域まで昇温させるための加熱手段を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記添加量補正手段は、前記第1及び第2のNOxセンサの出力を用いて前記NOx触媒の前後におけるNOx濃度差を求め、このNOx濃度差を用いて前記還元剤添加手段の実還元剤添加量を補正することを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記添加量補正手段は、前記第1及び第2のNOxセンサの出力に加えて、予め求められた、前記NOx触媒の床温とアンモニアスリップ量、NOx浄化率及びアンモニアのNOx化割合との関係の少なくともいずれかを用いて、前記実還元剤添加量を補正する、ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記NOx触媒の下流側に前記NOx触媒からスリップするアンモニアを酸化してNOx化する酸化触媒をさらに有し、
前記第2のNOxセンサは、前記酸化触媒の下流側に設けられている、ことを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
