Abstract
この課題は、貴金属担持アルミナにゼオライトを添加した触媒組成物を用いることにより解決され、触媒の耐シリコン性が大きく改善される。添加されるゼオライトの酸量は、0.4mmol・NH3/g〜1.5mmol・NH3/gの範囲にあることが好ましい。
Description
J. Catal., Vol.86, p.187 (1984).
(1) 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子、及び、ゼオライト粒子を含む、有機化合物及びケイ素化合物を含有する排ガスを浄化するための触媒組成物。
(2) ケイ素化合物が有機ケイ素化合物である(1)に記載の触媒組成物。
(3) ケイ素化合物が有機シリコーンである(1)に記載の触媒組成物。
(4) 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子とゼオライト粒子との重量の和に対するゼオライト粒子の重量が1wt%−70wt%の範囲にある、(1)〜(3)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(5) バインダーをさらに含む(1)〜(4)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(6) ゼオライト粒子が貴金属を担持したゼオライト粒子である(1)〜(5)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(7) 貴金属がPt、Pd、Rh、Ir、Ru、これらの合金、又はこれらの混合物である(1)〜(6)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(8) ゼオライトの酸量が0.4〜1.5mmolNH3/gの範囲にある(1)〜(7)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(9) ゼオライト中に含有されるアルカリ金属を酸化物に換算した量及びアルカリ土類金属を酸化物に換算した量の和がゼオライトの総量について5wt%以下である、(1)〜(8)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
(10) 触媒支持体;及び、該触媒支持体上に形成された、(1)〜(9)の何れかに記載の触媒組成物を含む触媒層;を含む触媒。
(11) 触媒層の平均厚みが10〜500μmの範囲にある、(10)に記載の触媒。
(12) 有機化合物及びケイ素化合物を含有する排ガスを(10)又は(11)に記載の触媒と200〜500℃の温度で接触し反応させる工程を含む排ガス浄化方法。
(13) 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子、及び、ゼオライト粒子を含むスラリーを作成し;該スラリーを支持体に塗布し、乾燥する;工程を含む、有機化合物及びケイ素化合物を含有する排ガスを浄化するための触媒の製造方法。
RnSiX4-n
(式中、Rは有機基であり、XはF、Cl、Br、I、OH、H、アミンから独立に選択される)
で表される化合物や、有機シリコーンが挙げられる。有機シリコーンとは、有機基と結合したケイ素と酸素とが結合して形成された主鎖を有するオリゴマー及びポリマーをいう。有機シリコーンには、ジメチルシリコーン、メチルフェニルシリコーン、環状シリコーン、脂肪酸変性シリコーン、ポリエーテル変性シリコーンが含まれる。
成分2の重量/(成分1の重量+成分2の重量)×100 (%)
は、1wt%以上、好ましくは2wt%以上、さらに好ましくは5wt%以上、より好ましくは8wt%以上、さらにより好ましくは10wt%以上であり、70wt%以下、好ましくは50wt%以下である。成分2の割合が上記範囲より小さい場合には、耐シリコン性が充分に改善されないことがある。成分2の割合が上記範囲より大きい場合には、有機化合物の除去が充分でないことがあり、高価なゼオライト量が増えるため経済的でない。
本発明の触媒層組成の例として、表1に記載のものが挙げられる。
[成分1]
貴金属を担持したアルミナ(成分1)を以下の通り調製した。
成分1b 4.6wt%
成分1c 4.7wt%
成分1d 5.0wt%
成分1e 5.6wt%
成分1f 9.0wt%
成分1g 1.25wt%
Pd源として硝酸パラジウムを使用し、1a−1gと同様の方法により、以下に記載のPt及びPd担持アルミナ粒子を得た。
成分1i Pt:1.25wt%、Pd:2.5wt%
[成分2]
成分2として、以下のゼオライトを使用した。
成分2f Pt:1.25wt%
成分2g Pt:4.5wt%
成分2h Pt:1.25wt%、Pd:1.25wt%
成分2i Pt:1.25wt%、Pd:2.5wt%
[触媒]
<触媒A>
200gの成分1aと、バインダーとしての50gのベーマイトとを混合し、この混合物を25gの60%硝酸及び725gのイオン交換水の混合液に加え、スラリーを作成した。このスラリーを、支持体であるコージェライトハニカム(日本碍子社製、200セル/平方インチ)にウォッシュコート法により塗布し、過剰のスラリーを圧縮空気で吹き払い、乾燥器中で150℃において3時間乾燥した。その後、空気中で500℃において2時間焼成し、次いで水素雰囲気中で500℃において1時間加熱し、触媒Aを得た。
<触媒B>
196gの成分1a、4gの成分2a、及び50gのベーマイトを混合し、この混合物を25gの60%硝酸と725gのイオン交換水の混合液に加え、充分撹拌してスラリーを作成した。このスラリーを、触媒Aについて使用したものと同じコージェライトハニカムにウォッシュコート法により塗布し、過剰のスラリーを圧縮空気で吹き払い、乾燥器中で150℃において3時間乾燥した。その後、空気中で500℃において2時間焼成し、次いで水素雰囲気中で500℃において1時間加熱し、触媒Bを得た。
<触媒C〜触媒F>
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒C〜触媒Fを製造した。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は表3の通りである。
触媒A−Fを各々反応器に充填し、排ガス処理試験1を行った。試験は、触媒層を300℃に保ち、空間速度(SV):50000hr-1で排ガスを反応器に流通させ、反応器から出るガスの組成を分析することによって行った。排ガスの組成は、以下の通りである。
ジメチルシロキサン Siとして2.5ppm
水 2vol%
空気 残部
本明細書では、排ガス流量/支持体体積を空間速度とした。
〔ゼオライトの酸量が耐シリコン性に与える効果〕
<触媒G〜触媒I>
触媒Bと同様の手順で触媒G〜触媒Iを製造し、上記の排ガス処理試験1を行った。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は表4の通りである。触媒G〜触媒I間の差異は、使用したゼオライトが異なるという点にある。触媒Gでは酸量が0.8mmolNH3/gのHY型ゼオライト、触媒Hでは酸量が0.4mmolNH3/gのモルデナイト、触媒Iでは酸量が0.1mmolNH3/gのシリカライトを使用した。
<触媒J>
成分1fとベーマイトとを重量比80:20で混合し、この混合物を60%硝酸及びイオン交換水の混合液(60%硝酸:イオン交換水=1:29(重量比))の混合液に加えてスラリーを作成した。このスラリーを、触媒Eと同じコージェライトハニカムにウォッシュコート法により塗布し、過剰のスラリーを圧縮空気で吹き払い、乾燥器中で150℃において3時間乾燥し、成分1fの層を形成した。
<触媒K>
成分1fの層の形成工程と成分2aの層の形成工程の順序を逆転した点を除き、触媒Iと同様の方法で触媒Jを作成した。触媒Jでは、成分2aを含む下層(厚さ18μm)の上に成分1fを含む上層(厚さ18μm)が形成された。
〔Pt担持アルミナとゼオライトとの混合効果〕
<触媒L (ゼオライト単独)>
成分1aに代えて成分2aを使用した点を除き、触媒Aと同様の手順で触媒Lを調製した。この触媒Lについて、排ガス処理試験1を行った。
〔ゼオライトの貴金属担持〕
<触媒M (Pt担持アルミナ+Pt担持ゼオライト);触媒N (Pt担持アルミナ単独);触媒O (Pt担持ゼオライト単独)>
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒M〜Oを製造した。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は表7の通りである。
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒P〜Rを製造した。Pt担持アルミナ単独触媒としては、前述の触媒Aを用いた。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は、表8の通りである。
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒S〜Oを製造した。Pt担持アルミナ単独触媒としては、前述の触媒Aを用いた。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は、表9の通りである。
〔Pt担持ゼオライトのPt担持アルミナによる置換〕
<触媒U及びV (Pt担持アルミナ+Pt担持ゼオライト);触媒W (Pt担持ゼオライト単独)>
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒U〜Wを製造した。Pt担持アルミナ単独触媒としては、前述の触媒Aを用いた。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は、表10の通りである。
〔Pt及びPdの併用による効果〕
<触媒X及びY (Pt/Pd担持アルミナ+Pt/Pd担持ゼオライト)>
触媒Bと同様の手順で、触媒X及びYを製造した。製造に使用した成分1及び成分2の種類及び量は、表11の通りである。
〔ゼオライトのPt担持効果〕
触媒A及び触媒Vは何れもPt含有量が4.5wt%であるが、触媒FはPtがアルミナのみに担持されており、触媒Vはアルミナ及びゼオライトの両方に担持されている点で異なる。両者の排ガス処理試験1の結果を図5に示す。図5からわかる通り、ゼオライトにもPtを担持することにより、触媒性能が向上する。

- 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子、及び、ゼオライト粒子を含む、
有機化合物及びケイ素化合物を含有する排ガスを浄化するための触媒組成物。 - ケイ素化合物が有機ケイ素化合物である請求項1に記載の触媒組成物。
- ケイ素化合物が有機シリコーンである請求項1に記載の触媒組成物。
- 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子とゼオライト粒子との重量の和に対するゼオライト粒子の重量が1wt%−70wt%の範囲にある、請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- バインダーをさらに含む請求項1〜4の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- ゼオライト粒子が貴金属を担持したゼオライト粒子である請求項1〜5の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- 貴金属がPt、Pd、Rh、Ir、Ru、これらの合金、又はこれらの混合物である請求項1〜6の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- ゼオライトの酸量が0.4〜1.5mmolNH3/gの範囲にある請求項1〜7の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- ゼオライト中に含有されるアルカリ金属を酸化物に換算した量及びアルカリ土類金属を酸化物に換算した量の和がゼオライトの総量について5wt%以下である、請求項1〜8の何れかに記載の触媒組成物。
- 触媒支持体;及び、
該触媒支持体上に形成された、請求項1〜9の何れかに記載の触媒組成物を含む触媒層
を含む触媒。 - 触媒層の平均厚みが10〜500μmの範囲にある、請求項10に記載の触媒。
- 有機化合物及びケイ素化合物を含有する排ガスを請求項10又は11に記載の触媒と200〜500℃の温度で接触し反応させる工程を含む排ガス浄化方法。
- 貴金属を担持したアルミナ粒子、及び、ゼオライト粒子を含むスラリーを作成し;
該スラリーを支持体に塗布し、乾燥する;
