Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of filiform corrosion by forming a chromate chemical conversion film on an aluminum material contg. <=0.02% copper, then subjecting the material to draining and drying at a prescribed temp., painting and curing and drying of the coated film. CONSTITUTION:The chromate chemical conversion film is formed on the aluminum material alloy contg. <=0.02% copper by which the surface prepn. treatment is executed. The alloy is then subjected to the draining and drying, painting and the curing and drying of the coated film at the temp. at which the corrosion resistance of the chemical conversion film is not impaired. The painting for suppressing the filiform corrosion of the aluminum material is thus executed. The aluminum material is the alloy compounded with 6-10% silicon. The temp. at which the corrosion resistance of the chemical conversion film is not impaired is generally 130 deg.C, more adequately <=80 deg.C. The paint for painting is adequately the paint to be cured by either silicone crosslinking or isocyanate crosslinking.
