Abstract

PURPOSE: To prolong the pot life of a coating solution and to improve the wear resistance, the hot water resistance and the adherability of the coating film, by using the titled compsn. obtd. by incorporating a specified amount of NH4ClO4 into a hydrolyzate of an epoxy gp.-contg. organosilane.
CONSTITUTION: A coating compsn. is prepd. by incorporating 0.05W10pts.wt. of HN4ClO4 as a latent curing agent into 100pts.wt. of a hydrolyzate of an epoxy gp.-contg. organosilane. The compsn. is coated on a substrate by a conventional method such as an immersion method, a spraying method or a roller coating method and backed at a temperature of not higher than the deformation temp. of the substrate to cure the coated compsn. whereby a coating film having good wear resistance, adherability and weathering resistance can be obtd. Since the curing catalyst is latent, the pot life of the compsn. is long and hence the compsn. is convenient for use.
