Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor which exhibits superconductivity above the b.p. of liquid N2 by compression molding specified three kinds of element, then calcining in oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Powder consisting primarily of at least one kind of element (A1) selected from Er, Sc, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, and Lu, is mixed with powder consisting primarily of at least one kind of element (A2) selected from Ba, Ca, and Sr, and powder consisting primarily of at least one kind of element (A3) selected from Cu, Zn, Ni, Co, Fe, Pd, Ag and Cd to obtain a powder mixture, which is then compression-molded and the molded product is calcined at 950-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere. Thus, a superconductor comprising a sintered body having K2NiF4 structure contg. rhombic crystals is obtd., wherein said sintered body consists of A1, A2, A3 and O and each content of A1, A2 and A3 is defined by the inequalities: 10<=A1<=60 atomic %, 20<=A2<=50 atomic %, and 30<=A3<=65 atomic %.
