Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor which forms a superconductor at >=77K by precalcining a powder mixture of specified three element components, pulverizing the precalcined product, granulating the pulverized product, compression-molding the granulated product, and calcining finally the compression-molded product. CONSTITUTION:A first component (A1) contains at least one kind of element selected from Er, Sc, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, and Lu. A second component (A2) contains Sr or/and Ca. A third component (A3) contains at least one kind of element selected from Cu, Zn, Ni, Co, Fe, Pd, Ag, and Cd. Powder consisting primarily of element(s) belonging to the group A1 is mixed with powder consisting primarily of element(s) belonging to the group A2 and powder consisting primarily of element(s) belonging to the group A3. Obtd. powder mixture is calcined at a temp. below final calcination temp., and obtd. calcined product is pulverized and granulated, and obtd. granulated product is compression-molded. The molded body is calcined finally at 950-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere to form thus a sintered body having K2NiF4 structure contg. rhombic crystals. The sintered body provides an aimed superconductor consisting of A1, A2, A3 and O wherein each content of A1, A2 and A3 is defined by the inequalities.
