Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an organic photoconductor capable of obtaining an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity and durability by incorporating a specified azo compound. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body to be used contains at least one of the azo compounds represented by formula I in which X1 is optionally substituted alkyl or such phenyl; X2 is -H, -CN, -CONH2, -COOR, or -COR; R is methyl or ethyl; each of X3 and X4 is H, halogen, nitro, alkoxy, or optionally substituted alkyl; and D is optionally substituted arylene or such a divalent aromatic heterocyclic group, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body superior in sensitivity, durability, and chargeability characteristics and easily producible.
