Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, durability, and potential stability by incorporating a specified trisazo pigment in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains at least one of the trisazo pigments represented by formula I in which each of R1-R9 is H, optionally substituted alkyl or halogen; and A is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group. The lone pair of the nitrogen atom as the central structure of the trisazo pigment maintains the conjugation between the azo groups, thus permitting electric charge generated by light to have a wide space capable of freely transferring and accordingly, absorption wavelength to extend to longer wavelength region and to improve charge transfer between the molecules at the same time, consequently, sensitivity to be enhanced and potential stability at the time of long uses to be ensured.
