Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the optical fatigue of a photoreceptor using a specified disazo pigment and to obtain a high quality image by conducting all or part of irradiations of light in a specified wavelength region in operations such as imagewise exposure, erasing exposure, transfer, de-electrification and cleaning of the photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer is formed using a disazo pigment represented by the formula (where each of R<1> and R<2> is alkyl, alkoxy, NO2, dialkylamino or halogen and n is 2 or 3). When the resulting photoreceptor is subjected to imagewise exposure, erasing exposure, transfer, de-electrification, cleaning, etc., all of irradiations of light in the operations are conducted with light in the wavelength region of 460-700nm. Thus, the optical fatigue is reduced, high sensitivity and a long life are provided, and the image quality can be enhanced.
