Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformize fatigue or a whole photoreceptor surface as well as to prevent occurrence of an afterimage due to fatigue diference, by exposing the whole surface of the photoreceptor when a visible image is present on it.
CONSTITUTION: Light source 6 is disposed between developing zone 4 and transferring zone 7, and the whole surface of photoreceptor is exposed to a light as same as the light in exposing zone 3 in wavelength distribution and in light amount. Since the toner attached to the image areas shields the light, an actual light amount arriving at the surface of drum 1 is in inverse proportion to the light amount received at the time of imagewise exposure. This permits the fatigue of the whole photoreceptor surface to be uniform at each copy cycle, and therefore, occurrence of an afterimage due to fatigue difference to be prevented.
