Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the height adjustment by rotation of a rotating circular tube so that the accuracy of positioning is enhanced by deviating the center of the circular tube and the optical center of a lens to be fixed into said circular tube in disposition. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is fixed in a through-hole 3 provided in a terminal member 2. A holding member 9 on which a light emitting element 8 is imposed and a holding mechanism 11 which supports a lens 10 for optical coupling of the fiber 1 and the element 8 are installed in a housing member 5. The above-mentioned mechanism 11 is constituted of the rotating circuit tube 12 which adheres and fixes the lens 10 and a supporting member 14 which has a circular hole 18 for freely rotatably holding the circular tube 12. The optical center of the lens 10 is fixed to the position deviated from the center of the cylinder. Since the height direction is thereby adjusted continuously while the circular tube 12 is kept rotating, the positioning with high accuracy is executed and the optimum optical coupling to the fiber 1 is attained.
