Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize variance in the diameter of a light beam on the surface of a photosensitive body by supporting lenses on an optical path in front of and behind a deflector by a common holder. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 30a is made incident on a polygon mirror 38 through a lens 37 and deflected, and guided to the photosensitive body after its scanning speed and focus are corrected by an ftheta lens 39. The lenses 37 and 39 are held by the common holder 47 and fitted in its fitting parts 47a and 47b, and the holder 47 is fitted to a housing in a position adjustable state and optical axes 30a and 50 are easily adjusted, so the beam diameter becomes stable and an excellent image is obtained. Further, lenses 37 and 39 are fitted in a sound insulation case in place of the holder 47 to cover even the deflector 38, and then the need for shield glass is eliminated to decrease the number of components.
