CONSTITUTION:A connecting device consists of a light source 11 arranged horizontally behind an optical fiber connection part 1, and relay lens 12 and 13, mirrors 14, 15 and 16, an objective lens 17, and an eyepiece 18 movable in an (x) axis, an (y) axis, and a (z) axis. An image A of the optical fiber connection part 1 is formed at the focal point of the relay lens 12, and the real image of the original image A is formed at the focal point of the relay lens 13. The focal lengths of the relay lenses 12 and 13 and the angles of the mirrors 14, 15 and 16 are adjusted adequately to set the focal point of the relay lens 13 at a position A shifted slightly from the original image A. The original image A and real image A' are observed through an objective lens 17 at the same time.
