Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled dense form with good superconducting characteristics, by preliminary calcination, under an atmosphere of low oxygen partial pressure, of feedstock powder followed by grinding and classification into fine powder and coarse powder and then blending them in specified proportion, forming followed by calcination. CONSTITUTION:Feedstock powder consisting of either one kind or at least two kinds of substance selected from oxides, halides, carbonates, nitrates and sulfates of alkaline earth metal, rare earth metal and copper is brought to preliminary calcination at 500-1,000 deg.C under an atmosphere of reduced pressure of 10<-5>-200Torr of oxygen partial pressure followed by grinding and classification into fine powder with a size of 0.05-1mum and coarse powder with a size of 6-12mum. Thence, 90-10wt.% of the fine powder and 90-10wt.% of the coarse powder are blended and formed followed by sintering at 600-1,100 deg.C under an oxygen atmosphere and then calcination at 600-1,100 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective superconducting form.
