Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of electric charging characteristics and sensitivity and rise of residual potential by incorporating an organic sulfur compound in a photosensitive body provided with a photosensitive layer containing a specified compound on a conductive base body. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body containing the organic S compound is obtained by forming on the conductive base body the photosensitive layer 4 containing the compound represented by formula I in which R1 is H atom or a substituent; R2 is H atom, alkyl, or aryl group; Ar1 is H atom, phenyl, or naphthyl group; Ar2 is phenylene or naphthylene group; each of Ar3 and Ar4 is alkyl, phenyl, or naphthyl group; and (n) is 0 or 1, thus permitting deterioration of chargeability and sensitivity and rise of dark decay and residual potential to be reduced.
