Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and durability of a photoconductive film by incorporating a specified hydrazone compound. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive film contains at least one of the hydrazone compounds represented by formulae I-III in which Z is a group of formula IV; each of R1-R6 and each of R1'-R6' are each H, alkyl, or the like; A is an aromatic hydrocarbon or aromatic heterocyclic ring; each of (l) and (n) is 0 or >=1; and (m) is 0-5. It is preferred to form said film for the photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body, for example, to form the potosensitive layer 4 comprising an electric charge generating layer 2 composed essentially of a charge generating material and a charge transfer layer 3 containing said hydrazone compound as the charge transfer material on a conductive supporting body 1.
