Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a junction having excellent bondability of both superconductor and tunnel insulating layers and resistance against heat change by employing a perovskite type oxide superconductor including trivalent rare earth element as the superconductor layer, and using a perovskite type oxide insulator including rare earth element except trivalent ones as the tunnel insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:A perovskite type oxide superconductor including trivalent rare earth element is employed as superconductor layers 2, 4, and a perovskite type oxide insulator including rare earth element except trivalent ones is used as a tunnel insulating layer 3. Since the layers 2, 4 and 3 are different in the types of the rear earth elements but have similar properties of the elements and similar outer shell electron dispositions with many similar points, both have similar crystal structure. Thus, a junction having excellent bondability of both the layers and resistance against heat change can be formed to obtain an accurate Josephson junction element.
