Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the mismatch of crystal lattice and the change of orientation between layers, and obtain an excellent junction state, by a method wherein a constitution is so made that only a first ceramics layer shows a superconductive state at a specified temperature, by making a first oxide ceramics layer and a second oxide ceramics layer, which are laminated one upon another, have the same component system but different composition ratio. CONSTITUTION:An oxide ceramics laminated layer structure 1 is formed on a substrate 2 as a base material. The substrate 2 is constituted of superconducting single crystal, e.g., YBa2Cu3O6.8. A laminated layer structure 1 is constituted by laminating a first oxide ceramics layer 3 and a second oxide ceramics layer 4. Among them, the first oxide ceramics layer 3 exhibits superconductive state, and the second oxide ceramics layer 4 does not exhibit a superconductive state at least at a specified temperature. This laminated layer body assembly constitutes a Josephson junction of superconductive/ normally conductive/superconductive structure or superconductive/insulative/ superconductive structure, and can be functioned as a Josephson element under a temperature condition of 90 deg.K.
