Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an igniting operation which is carried out except in a regular position by forming a controlling mechanism so as to gently cut off a current for electrifying an ignition coil at the time of the stoppage of an engine or operating a stopping switch. CONSTITUTION:At the time of an ordinary operation, as a power transistor 104 is turned off, a current for electrifying an ignition coil 105 is cut off and an ignition plug 106 is ignited by a high voltage generated in its secondary coil. When an engine is stopped with the ignition coil 105 being in an electrified condition, the potential of a D point is gently lowered gradually reducing the base current of the power transistor 104 and, accordingly, the current for electrifying the ignition coil 105 is gradually reduced without generating the spark discharge of the ignition plug 106. Also, at the time of operating a stopping switch 117, the current for electrifying the ignition coil 105 is gradually reduced accompanying the gradually reducing potential at the D point, thereby preventing the spark discharge of the ignition plug 106. As a result, the erroneous stoppage of the engine or ignition which takes place except in a regular position can be prevented.
