Abstract

PURPOSE:To unify quality, enlarge current density and reduce cost by coating a wire material with oxide molten liquid adjusted to a composition forming an oxide superconducting phase and then applying heat treatment to the wire material. CONSTITUTION:A material adjusted to a composition forming an oxide superconducting phase is heated to a high temperature and made into molten liquid. Then, the oxide molten liquid is applied to a wire material using a method like an immersion or spray method for coating the material. The core material coated with the oxide molten liquid is shifted to a process for forming the oxide superconducting phase. Or the wire material coated with the oxide molten liquid is treated in a treatment furnace set to the temperature, environmental gas and pressure where a superconducting phase stably appears, thereby manufacturing a complex oxide superconducting wire using a wire material as a core material.
