Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency by computing the effective value of a thyristor current from the peak value and firing angle of said current and by controlling said thyristor current according to said effective value. CONSTITUTION:A current sensor 7 detects the electric current of a TRIAC 2 to input the peak value Ia thereof to an arithmetic processing unit 13. Also, a supply voltage zero-crossing detection circuit 14 detects the zero-crossing point of an AC supply voltage to input said point to the arithmetic processing unit 13. Said arithmetic processing unit 13 calculates a firing angle taua from data of the supply voltage zero-crossing detection circuit 14 and a gate control circuit 17, and computes, from the peak value Ia and the firing angle taua, their effective value. Then, said unit 13 gives a phase control signal to the gate control circuit 17 according to said effective value. Thus, the control precision of a motor can be prevented from lowering due to a current waveform distortion, a power frequency difference, a supply voltage variation and the like.
