Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit AC current to be continuously controlled, even if the power factor of load is changed, by figuring out the limit value of phase in which an electric valve can be turned on according to the time period from zero point of AC supply voltage through the turn-on of the electric valve to the next turn-off thereof.
CONSTITUTION: When power is supplied through a controllable electric valve to loads 3, 4 containing inductance, voltage across an electric valve 2 and supply voltage are applied to a phase detecting circuit 8 to obtain to obtain supply phase and angle phase left uncontrolled. Both phases are then supplied to a logical circuit 9. On the basis of logical signal at the output of the logical circuit is figured out the limit valve of αL of ignition phase by integrators 11, 21. Then logical product of this αL and the ignition phase Va taken out by AND gates 13, 23 is sent to a pulse amplifier 14 to control the ignition of the electric valve 2. Hence the ignition phase can be controlled not to exceed power factor angle so that the total output can be supplied without any adjustment even if the power factor of load is changed.
