Abstract
PURPOSE:To preferably control a three-phase power supply even for a load having delay power factor by controlling the pulse width of a firing signal for a TRIAC in response to the case that the firing phase angle is less than a predetermined level and the case that the firing phase angle is higher than the level. CONSTITUTION:TRIAC22, 24 are inserted to two phases of three-phase power supply to control the voltage applied to the load. If the firing phase angle theta is less than 60 deg. in this case, the pulse width of the firing signal 124 applied to the T-phase TRIAC24 is set low to remove the step-up phenomenon of the power supply voltage generated in the range of 60 deg. to 90 deg. of the phase angle theta. On the other hand, if the phase angle theta is higher than 60 deg., as the phase angle theta increases, the pulse width of the firing signal 124 is increased to control preferably the delayed power factor.
