Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous firing of a phase controlling element due to the variation in the phase of a motor current by varying th width of a gate pulse signal applied to the phase controlling element for controlling the applied voltage of the motor in response to the phase of a load current for the power voltage. CONSTITUTION:An induction motor 2 is connected to a power source 1 through a phase controlling element 3 relative to the circuit for controlling the applied voltage to the motor. A current detector 4 detects the load current flowing through the motor 2, and the output is inputted to a comparator 5 together with a reference voltage 6 relative to the reference voltage circuit. A gate pulse circuit 8 supplies a gate pulse to the phase control element 3. The gate pulse is controlled for the gate pulse generating time by the output voltage of the comparator 5, and is controlld for the gate pulse width by a gate pulse width controller 7.
